Friday 7 to Sunday 9 February: a weekend retreat on the theme of ‘The four sights’. Before Gautama was awakened and became the Buddha, he lived a luxury life in a palace. This life was disrupted when he saw an old person, a sick person and a dead person. He was shocked to his bones and did not know what to do with his life anymore. Then he saw a homeless wanderer who had chosen the spiritual life, and he decided to do the same. This is when his quest began.
We will explore these four sights and how they still play a role in the spiritual life, and in our own life specifically.
